Day 5 -- Social pressure success or failure?
So today is Friday. I was at the end of my food plan, so for breakfast I had 2 boiled eggs with my tea and then some of my co-workers wanted to go out to eat. So I think I did pretty good there. I had a side salad with grilled chicken strips and a side of buffalo sauce to lightly dip it in and some grilled broccoli. Yummy meal! However, in addition to being Friday, today is my husband's birthday and he wanted to eat at an Asian restaurant. They have a yummy sushi that I love there. I decided that the rice in the sushi can be my allotment for the day so I had that as my main dish and then I ordered a plate of Hibachi grilled vegetables. The grilled vegetables were in a sauce that tasted a little sweet. Not sure how bad that was. So I'm not sure if this constitutes a failure or not. I'll just have to move forward tomorrow. I have another challenge tomorrow as it is the 4th of July and my father-in-law's birthday. They always have a big cookout. The menu is mostly carbs and sugar. But I think there is a salad that I can eat and they will be serving a variety of meat. I'll just have to resist all the rest! So today wasn't too bad. Time to forget the oops and move forward. Oh Gosh! Has it only been 4 days!??
Day 4......Going strong! I feel like it's been 21 days already! I'm having a bit of a challenge keeping on top of my meal planning. Today I had 2 boiled eggs for breakfast, a big salad with grilled chicken and cottage cheese and tomatoes, and for supper I had a hamburger patty, 4 slices of bacon and some cherry tomatoes, cucumbers and orange bell pepper. It was yummy. I did eat some berries and then a handful of pork rinds when I was really wanting something crunchy. Tea and water to drink.....this will be an every day thing. I did get a slight headache in the middle of the day -- but I really feel pretty good! My friend Sara said that she was really hungry last night and she had some nausea today. So there you have it! It is crazy to realize how much of our food has sugar or gluten in it! It. is. everywhere......... Like keeping cocaine laying around every corner tempting the addict. No wonder we have such a difficult time breaking free! So the scale said 184.2 this morning...... whoot whoot! That's a little over 3 lbs! (but who is counting? ) :)

3 days down!
So today wasn't too bad. I did want a soda really badly! But I won that battle! Whoot Whoot! For breakfast I sautéed onions, peppers, tomatoes and spinach in butter and some bacon grease and then added some eggs and scrambled them all together with a piece of cheese. I topped this off with 2 slices of bacon and wha la! It was fantastic! Later I had some of the broiled chicken from KFC with some oven roasted asparagus. My breakfast was more like a brunch because these are the only 2 meals I had today. Now--I guess you could say I had a cheat item--blackberries and a few raspberries. We have a berry garden and the fruit is just ripening and I'm not missing out! So I didn't have the allowed fruit today and just had about 1/2 cup of these berries. I don't know if it's been long enough to affect my taste buds-- but these were more delicious than ever! My weigh in this morning was 185.6 -- down one pound from yesterday! ............ But who's counting? :) See you tomorrow!
